March 1 to 6, 2010: World Indoor Masters Championships, Kamloops, BC

Congratulations to our Victrack athletes who competed in the 2010 World Indoor Masters Championships over the past week in Kamloops. Our pole vaulters picked up some hardware: Wayne Psotka, M45+, 1st place with 3.80m; Sean Steele M45+, 5th place with 2.75m; Gerard Dumas M70+, 7th place with 2.05m; Ken Underdahl M60+, 7th place with 2.30m; and Stuart Love M40+, 3rd place with 3.90m. Sand Anderson of Pentrack who trains with our vault group placed 1st in F65+ with a vault of 1.30m.

The annual Racewalk Victoria event was staged on the Galloping Goose Trail. Congratulations to our club athletes who competed in this event and had great performances for the first event of the season.

December 14, 2008The 25th annual Christmas Cup Pole Vault Meet was held on December 14th at the Oak Bay Secondary School gym and our athletes saw some personal and indoor records fall!

The Christmas Cup Meet record is still held by Owen Clements, 5.10 metres achieved at Mt. Douglas Secondary School in 1994. Our thanks go to our volunteer upright technicians and to Jack Rowe, our BC Athletics official at the event.

Courtney Roskelly of Oak Bay Secondary placed 13th out of 249 competitors in the Girls’ race.

Marc Bonwick of Oak Bay placed 6th, Kyle Zosiak of Oak Bay placed 18th and Cody Therrien of St Andrew’s place 52nd out of 272 competitors in the Boys’ race.
